Jeremy Roy will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. The Sharks selected Roy with the 31st pick of the 2015 draft and the readers ranked him as San Jose’s No. 7 prospect under 25 years old.

He was one of the first players sent back to junior, where he plays for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Roy had three points in 10 games before the injury. The 19-year-old defender will be eligible to play with the Barracuda next year, so my guess is this is the end of his junior career.
Roy tallied 124 points in 165 QMJHL games, the vast majority of which came with the Sherbrooke Phoenix. This was his first season with the Armada.
The primary concern is the long-term health and wellbeing of Roy. Recovering from knee surgery isn’t easy at any age and I wish him a speedy and safe recovery. We’ll worry about how this affects the Sharks’ prospect pool later. For now, best wishes to Roy. Hang in there.
