It must be tough to be Aaron Dell at this point. You’ve got the best even-strength save percentage in the league, you played great in the American Hockey League last year and yet everything you hear is that your general manager, Doug Wilson, wants to acquire a replacement for you. Exhibit A:
Canucks are studying the possibility of trading Ryan Miller. Flames and Sharks are among teams looking for a goaltender. #tvasports

This doesn’t link the Sharks to the Canucks, obviously, but with Ben Bishop already moved there are only so many goaltenders out there. Others who have been attached to rumors include gulp Marc-Andre Fleury, Antti Niemi, Kari Lehtonen, Brian Elliott… you know… bad goalies.
Ryan Miller has posted a .9255 even-strength save percentage this year, one of the best in the NHL despite playing for a team that may as well be playing in Utica. He’s in the final year of his contract and may not cost much given the quality of general manager in place in Vancouver. You may not like the guy, but if Wilson is (mistakenly) set on acquiring a backup, Miller wouldn’t be a bad place to look.
