Sharks vs Ducks preview
The Sharks face the Ducks for the first time this season tonight at SAP Center
The Sharks face the Anaheim Ducks tonight at SAP Center in their fourth preseason game of the season. Tonight's lineup is going to be significantly different from Friday night's, with veteran, sure-thing players (who beat the Coyotes' vets last night) getting the night off and younger players having a chance to fight for the remaining roster spots.

Last Meeting
It's been almost eight months since the Sharks and Ducks have faced each other, with the Sharks winning the last meeting by a score of 6-3. The Sharks won four out of five of their games against the Ducks last year, with the Ducks' only win coming in overtime.
Storylines
- Martin Jones will be making his first start at SAP Center tonight, with Aaron Dell backing him up. Dell is expected to be on the roster for the Barracuda this season.
- Though Timo Meier is not expected to be a Shark on opening night, he has been impressing the coaching staff with his play in the preseason thus far. DeBoer is quoted as saying "He's just going to get better and better as he gets older and more mature."
- Kevin Kurz expects that two forwards and one defenseman on the roster today will be scratched, and that more cuts are likely before the Sharks' next game (vs Vancouver on Tuesday).
