Sharks vs. Sabres: Lines, gamethread and where to watch

The San Jose Sharks begin their four-game Eastern road trip at 4 p.m. PT against the Buffalo Sabres in upstate New York with another rookie expected to make his debut. Marcus Sorensen, the 24-year-old winger, skated as the left wing on the fourth line with Micheal Haley and Melker Karlsson according to Friend of the Blog Kevin Kurz. You can see the full lines below.

The decision to keep Haley in the lineup is a puzzling one unless Ryan Carpenter, an actual center, is injured. The fourth line was fine against the Arizona Coyotes and I’m sure will pull their weight against another bad team in the Sabres but debuting a rookie, even one on the older side like Sorensen, without a true center is an interesting decision to say the least.

San Jose signed Sorensen as a free agent after he was not retained by the Ottawa Senators. The Sens drafted Sorensen back in the fourth round of the 2010 draft. He has scored 27 points in 39 games in his first season in the AHL.
